College Football Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 11/4/20

Week 10 of college football is here! FanDuel's Wednesday night college football DFS main slate includes six games.

In case you're unfamiliar with how it works, you can check out the rules and scoring on FanDuel, where you can hit the lobby each week to see the full array of slates and contests being offered.

As for the basics, your roster consists of a quarterback slot, two running back slots, three wide receiver slots (which also includes tight ends), and one super flex slot. In the flex, you can insert one player from any position, including quarterbacks.

Here, our goal is to help you field a roster full of fantasy goodness, and in true numberFire fashion, we'll use our in-house projections as well as betting totals and advanced statistics to tackle as many slates as possible in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff. This week, we are only breaking down Friday's main slate, which locks at 6:00 p.m. EST.

Let's breakdown which players are in great spots as well as identify some players with cheap price tags that will allow you to roster the high dollar players.

Quarterbacks

Dustin Crum, Kent State ($10,500) – Crum was named to the 2020 Pro Football Focus College Preseason All-MAC first team. The dual-threat quarterback accounted for 26 out of Kent State Golden Flashes' 37 offensive touchdowns in 2019. Crum averaged 239.8 passing yards, 61.6 rushing yards, and 2.5 total touchdowns in MAC games last season. He's in a fabulous spot as the Golden Flashes host a vulnerable Eastern Michigan Eagles defense. The Eagles allowed 51 touchdowns in only 13 games last season.

Kaleb Eleby, Western Michigan ($9,000) – Eleby will start at quarterback for the Western Michigan Broncos, after redshirting in 2019. Eleby made five starts in 2018 and put up respectable numbers. The sophomore threw for 1,092 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. He also tallied three rushing touchdowns. He's in a great spot to post a massive stat line as the Broncos take on the Akron Zips. Akron was putrid defensively last season as they allowed nearly 415 yards per game to opposing offenses and were roasted for 51 total touchdowns in only 12 games.

Kyle Vantrease, Buffalo ($7,800) – This comes with a caveat, as Vantrease is technically listed as a co-starter with Matt Myers as the Buffalo Bulls open the 2020 season. Vantrease took over the starting quarterback job from Myers after five games last season and never looked back, so I'm expecting Vantrease to start on Wednesday night. Vantrease tossed eight touchdown passes while also rushing for five touchdowns in seven MAC starts during 2019. He's in a good spot to open the season as he encounters a Northern Illinois Huskies' pass defense that allowed a sturdy 7.54 yards per pass attempt last season. The junior was recently named to the 2020 Pro Football Focus College Preseason All-MAC second team.

Others to consider: Drew Plitt, Eli Peters (if he starts), Brett Gabbert, Preston Hutchinson, Daniel Richardson, Armani Rogers (if he starts), Matt McDonald, and Ross Bowers

Running Backs

Jaret Patterson, Buffalo ($11,000) – Patterson may not be a household name yet, but he will be by the end of this season. The Buffalo star recorded at least 26 carries and topped 140 rushing yards over the final six games of the 2019 season. Patterson also recorded an eye-popping 16 touchdowns over those final six games. Backfield mate, Kevin Marks Jr. ($8,300), is also worth a look. He ran for over 1,000 yards and recorded 8 touchdowns a season ago. Toledo's 2019 leading rusher, Bryant Koback ($9,900) is worth a look as well if you can't afford Patterson.

Kobe Lewis, Central Michigan ($8,800) – Lewis projects to receive a large workload this season with 2019 backfield mate Jonathan Ward departed. The Central Michigan Chippewas' star running back ran for 1,074 yards and 12 touchdowns while operating in a time-share last season. On tap is a plus matchup against the Ohio Bobcats. Ohio allowed 166.3 rushing yards per game to opposing backfields last season. Additionally, they were hammered for 21 rushing touchdowns in 13 games.

Xavier Williams, Kent State ($7,600) – Williams will start at running back after running for 393 yards and 4 touchdowns as a reserve in 2019. With the Kent State coaching reportedly expressing a desire to run the ball more this season, Williams should receive plenty of opportunities. On tap is a date with an Eastern Michigan defense that was hammered for 30 rushing touchdowns in only 13 games last season. The Eagles allowed 194.2 rushing yards per game last season.

Others to consider: Bryant Koback, Caleb Huntley, Sean Tyler, Kevin Marks Jr., Andrew Clair, Shakif Seymour, DeMontre Tuggle, Davion Johnson, and Darius Boone Jr.

Wide Receivers

Isaiah McKoy, Kent State ($9,400) – McKoy is the Golden Flashes top returning wide receiver from 2019 after posting 57 receptions, 877 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns. The junior wide receiver established a solid rapport with quarterback Dustin Crum during MAC play last season. McKoy caught at least five passes in each of the final seven games that he played in 2019.

Antonio Nunn, Buffalo ($7,800) – Nunn is one of the best wide receivers in the MAC. In 12 games in 2019, Nunn recorded 49 receptions, 687 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns on 88 targets, per Pro Football Focus. His 88 targets were 49 more than any other Bulls' pass catchers. Additionally, Nunn earned Pro Football Focus' second-highest grade on vertical routes over the final six games of 2019.

JaCorey Sullivan, Central Michigan ($7,600) – Per Pro Football Focus, Central Michigan quarterbacks posted a solid 99.2 passer rating when targeting Sullivan last season. The senior emerged in the middle of the 2019 season as one of the Chippewas' top playmakers. Sullivan drew at least six targets and caught at least five passes in six out of the last sevens games a season ago. Additionally, he cleared 80 receiving yards in five out of the final seven games in 2019.

Others to consider: Skyy Moore, Bryce Mitchell, Khalil Pimpleton, Justin Hall, Quian Williams, Jack Sorenson, Shane Hooks, Yo'Heinz Tyler, Cole Tucker, Dwayne Eskridge, and Ryan Luehrmann.
