Zrebiec: Baltimore's James Proche 'continually stood out' in minicamp
According to Jeff Zrebiec, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver James Proche "has really good hands and there’s a toughness and confidence about him that suggests he’s ready to become a bigger contributor."
In a three-way competition including Tylan Wallace and Devin Duvernay, Proche has emerged as a potential candidate for Baltimore's second starting receiving role. Per Zrebiec, "I think he’ll get a bigger opportunity this year and it wouldn’t surprise me if he emerges as a reliable target, particularly on third downs."
If Proche can emerge with a starting role, he'll likely see WR4-WR5 type volume behind Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman in a run-oriented offense. According to Pro Football Focus on 23 career targets, the 25-year old has recorded 17 receptions for 216 yards and 1.18 yards per route run while logging 86.3% of his snaps in the slot and 12.6% out wide.
