J.D. McKissic (neck) ruled out for Commanders on Sunday
Washington Commanders running back J.D. McKissic (neck) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
McKissic didn't practice all week due to a neck injury. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said McKissic is consulting with a specialist and the team is taking a cautious approach. Antonio Gibson will likely run more routes against the Vikings, which could potentially result in more early-down work for Brian Robinson.
McKissic has 40 targets this season while averaging 18.1 routes per game with a 39.6% offensive snap share. Gibson has 35 targets and is averaging 10.9 routes per game with a 42.1% snap share. Robinson has only been targeted twice in four games. The Vikings are allowing 5.4 receptions and 40.0 yards per game to the running back position.
