Colts place Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on PUP list
The Indianapolis Colts placed running back Jonathan Taylor on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday.
Colts owner Jim Irsay said earlier this month that Taylor was "healed up" after the running back missed the team's offseason program, so this is an unexpected move, but the Colts are likely just being cautious with their workhorse. As of now, Taylor is still expected to be ready for the start of the season. He missed six games last season with an ankle injury and then underwent surgery in January. Zack Moss and Deon Jackson will likely handle most of the running back work while Taylor is unavailable.
Assuming that Taylor is active for all 17 games this season, he's currently the RB3 in numberFire's preseason rankings. Our models project him for 349.0 carries, 1.707.8 rushing yards, 31.5 receptions (43.8 targets), 226.0 receiving yards, and 10.82 total touchdowns.
