49ers' Trey Lance up and down in training camp
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance has been working with the second team offense in training camp so far.
First team duties, as expected, have been the domain of Brock Purdy so far, whose performance down the stretch for the team last season nearly landed them in the Super Bowl. Lance reportedly had his best day of training camp so far on Monday, but had been inconsistent in previous outings. He may not have a starting job come Week 1, but Lance could be a QB1 for fantasy any time he gets the chance to take over.
Lance has produced solid numbers for fantasy purposes in all but one start (which came in a Week 1 monsoon in Chicago last year), with over 20 fantasy points in 2 games. If Purdy's play regresses in 2023, keep Lance's name on your watch lists for a potential QB1 off the waiver wire in season long leagues.
