Amon-Ra St. Brown (leg) out for Lions until next week
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is expected to sit out practice until next week due to an ankle injury, per head coach Dan Campbell.
St. Brown injured his ankle at practice on Wednesday and won't be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Lions reportedly aren't planning on playing their starters anyway and St. Brown appears to have avoided a serious injury. The 23-year-old rising star should be fine for Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs. St.Brown led the Lions with 106 catches and 146 targets for 1,161 yards and 6 touchdowns last year in his second season. There will be additional reps available for Marvin Jones, Josh Reynolds, Denzel Mims, and Kalif Raymond while St. Brown is sidelined.
St. Brown is the WR10 in numberFire's preseason rankings and our models project him for 163.2 targets, 109.1 catches, 1,269.9 yards, and 7.48 touchdowns. Among the 30 receivers with at least 100 targets last year, ARSB averaged the eighth-most yards per route run.
