49ers' Elijah Mitchell (knee) back at practice Thursday
San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned to practice on Thursday for Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.
Mitchell made it back on the field after missing the last two games. If he's cleared to play on Sunday, Mitchell will likely reclaim the 49ers' primary backup running back role from Jordan Mason.
Mason played 13 offensive snaps and rushed 10 times for 69 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. The Browns are allowing the fifth-fewest FanDuel points per game to running backs this season and they have the top-ranked adjusted run defense in the NFL, according to numberFire's metrics.
