Kyren Williams (ankle sprain) likely out Week 7 for Rams
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams is expected to miss Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a sprained ankle, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Williams suffered the injury late in Sunday's Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He will likely miss one game, but it's not expected to be a long-term issue. Ronnie Rivers (knee) is also expected to miss time, so sixth-round rookie Zach Evans is currently penciled in as the Rams' starting running back. Royce Freeman figures to be called up from the practice squad to offer support behind Evans.
Williams played 45 snaps in Week 6 and rushed 20 times for a season-high 158 yards and a touchdown. He wasn't targeted for the first time this season, but the Rams were also in a positive game script. Evans logged six snaps on offense Sunday and rushed 4 times for 10 yards. He will face a Steelers defense in Week 7 that allows the eighth-most FanDuel points per game to running backs.
