Patriots' DeVante Parker enters NFL concussion protocol

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker is in the NFL's concussion protocol, reports Mike Reiss of ESPN.

What It Means:

Parker took a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. Kendrick Bourne suffered a season-ending ACL tear in the game, so if Parker doesn't clear protocol in time, Demario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Jalen Reagor will be the Patriots' top receivers in Week 9 versus the Washington Commanders.

Parker has 15 receptions on 25 targets for 158 yards in seven games this season. He has a 9.2% target share, tied with Mike Gesicki for seventh on the team. The Commanders are allowing the second-most FanDuel points per game to receivers this season, so New England's ragtag crew will at least have a plus matchup.
