NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 10/27/16
A good chunk of you probably already play daily fantasy football, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel.com, because it's a ton of fun. And our analysis and projections can help you win. Here are some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalies to Target
Martin Jones ($8,500): At -195 on the moneyline, the San Jose Sharks are the biggest favorites of the day, and our projections give Jones' the highest win probability of any goalie tonight at 71%. We give him a 16% chance of recording a shutout -- again the highest mark on the slate -- and the Columbus Blue Jackets have the second-lowest implied total of the day. The Sharks rank 3rd in the NHL in Corsi For Percentage to start the season while the Blue Jackets check in 23rd. Columbus is unlikely to generate much offense, and the same discrepancy that gives Jones a great shot at scoring a win also limits his ceiling because he won't have many opportunities for saves. However, the low ceiling isn't a huge concern with his price this low, and he is our top goalie play of the day.
