NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 1/21/20
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Petr Mrazek ($8,100): The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to start Mrazek in net against the Winnipeg Jets. With a slate that features a few "rivalry games" followed by Florida and Chicago, it may be tough to find a goaltender that can deliver guaranteed results. Mrazek is far from automatic here, and watch to make sure James Reimer does not unexpectedly start. The one thing Winnipeg does do is generate offense on the road (31.5 shots per 60). However, the good news for Carolina is that the Jets allow well over three goals a game and have a penalty kill of 74% away from home. That gives Mrazek a better chance for a win. See if Tristan Jarry starts for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Boston Bruins.
High-Priced Skaters
Mika Zibanejad ($7,500): The center has a solid matchup against the New York Islanders on Tuesday night. Between him and Artemi Panarin, that is the makings of a decent power-play stack. It also helps getting a little from line one and line two at even strength on a smaller slate like this. The last meeting against the Islanders saw the pivot score, help on another goal, and delivered five shots on net. He had four scoring chances as well during the road tilt. Patrice Bergeron ($7.800) and Sidney Crosby ($8,500) are solid options.
David Pastrnak ($8,800): Pastrnak enjoyed the home and home against the Pittsburgh Penguins, as he had four real-world points in the two games with eight shots on goal (1 G, 3 A). A home game before the All-Star break against the Vegas Golden Knights should be a good place for the winger. The Vegas road penalty kill has dropped to 78%, and the goals against average has risen above three in the last month, including 4.5 goals per 60 allowed to top lines. Patrick Kane ($8,200) is on a surge following his 1,000th career point for Chicago.
Value Skaters
Frank Vatrano ($3,300): Vatrano had some unfortunate luck over the weekend but still wound up with eight FanDuel points after tallying double-digit point totals in his previous three outings. His point-streak is up to four games now and faces a Chicago team that allows 35 shots per 60 in Chicago. The expectation of high-event hockey is extremely likely in this game, and Florida is playing on the back end of a back-to-back, which may mean more ice time for Vatrano. "Frank The Tank" is low-priced on Tuesday yet again compared to his productive value. Brandon Tanev ($3,600) is a good alternative against Philadelphia on Tuesday night.
Johnny Boychuk ($3,500): Boychuk is on the other side of his career when it comes to ice time (it is erratic), but he has averaged 3.75 blocks per game over the previous four contests. The Islanders' defender blocked seven shots against the Washington Capitals and could face quite a few chances to do so on Tuesday. His shot volume is extremely low, so the minimum-priced play is all about the blocks. Brett Pesce ($3,800) may be in a good spot against Winnipeg tonight.
