3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Monday 11/22/21

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

It's an interesting six-game slate with some good games, so let's look at the best teams to stack.

Carolina Hurricanes

An easy case could be made for the Carolina Hurricanes to be considered the best team in the NHL at the moment. They are 14-2 and have the best points percentage in the league. They are averaging the fourth-most goals per game at 3.50 and are in a good spot to score again tonight.

The Hurricanes seem to be sticking with the line combinations that have seen them win four games in a row. The first line has Sebastian Aho ($8,800) and Andrei Svechnikov ($8,300) on it, and they are one and two in points for the team. Now they are joined by Seth Jarvis ($3,200), and the rookie now has goals in three straight games.

The second line also can be stacked, as Teuvo Teravainen ($6,100) and Vincent Trocheck ($5,800) combine on the top power play with Aho and Svechnikov. This gives us the option of stacking all four power play forwards or taking the value with Jarvis. We can also add in Tony DeAngelo ($5,200) -- he's third on the team with 15 points.

Carolina is on a road trip and will play the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Sharks have been surprising this season, but they are still beatable. They allow the eighth-most shot attempts per 60 minutes, and this is a bad matchup for them against Carolina, who is third in shot attempts per 60.

Carolina's implied team total is the second-highest on the slate, and they are certainly worth stacking tonight.

Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche looked to be in a bit of trouble. They were sitting outside the playoffs and Nathan MacKinnon had gone down. A four-game win streak and some games in hand have them right in striking distance. They look to be back on track.

Colorado will still be without MacKinnon tonight, but it shouldn't prevent us from stacking them. Mikko Rantanen ($8,100) has been driving the bus for the Avs, with seven points during this four-game streak. Gabriel Landeskog ($8,500) is up to 14 points in 12 games, so the captain is doing his part as well. The third wheel on this line is Logan O'Connor ($4,100), and he offers nice value.

The Avs' second line is worth considering as well. Nazem Kadri ($6,500) leads the team with 19 points. He's on the first power play with linemate Andre Burakovsky ($5,000), so that gives some nice correlation. Of course in any stack, you'll want to consider throwing in Cale Makar ($7,000) on defense. Makar is one of the best offensive defensemen in the league and can have big games with his teammates.

Colorado will play the Ottawa Senators, who are in a tough spot. They had a week off due to COVID and now travel to Colorado. Ottawa already allowed the fourth-most goals per 60 this season, and they could be at a severe disadvantage tonight.

Colorado's implied team total is all the way up at 3.82, so they stand out as the best stack of the night.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have come down to earth a bit from their hot start. They are only 6-4 in their last 10 games and sit outside the playoffs. They still average 3.2 goals per game, which is more than respectable. They also get a good matchup tonight.

The main appeal for stacking the Blue Jackets' second line is the value they offer. Rookie Cole Sillinger ($4,400) has impressed since training camp, and now has consistent time on the first power play. Jakub Voracek ($4,800) is ninth in the league in assists with 14 and should find some shooting luck to improve on his one goal. Yegor Chinakhov ($3,400) is also a good value on this line, as he picked up his first goal last week.

That line works well for stacking Colorado or Carolina, but the first line shouldn't be ignored. Oliver Bjorkstrand ($6,800) and Boone Jenner ($4,800) are forming a nice duo, with Bjorkstrand leading the team with 17 points. You can still add Gustav Nyquist ($3,500) as a value option to this stack. Zach Werenski ($6,000) has six points in his last four games and is a good defenseman to add with Columbus players if you have the salary.

The Jackets' will travel to face the Buffalo Sabres, who are coming off a road game last night. Buffalo has lost a lot of the juice they had early in the season, and are 2-7-1 in their last ten games. Columbus should be able to exploit their rest advantage in this game. The Jackets have the third-highest implied team total of the night, and, for their salaries, offer great value on this slate.
