3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Friday 2/25/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Friday night has six games on the schedule. Let's dig into some values!
Nicolas Roy, Center, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $4,200
Nicolas Roy is a reasonable tertiary option on Friday night against the Arizona Coyotes.
He is starting to play like he was at the start of the season. The pivot has five shots on goal in two of his last four games. That includes an assist while playing roughly 16-plus minutes a night of late.
At $4,200, Roy is worth a flier on this slate.
Emil Benstrom, Wing, Columbus Blue Jackets
FanDuel Salary: $3,500
Emil Bemstrom plays fourth-line minutes, but he has produced shots at a top-six rate over the last few games.
The Columbus Blue Jackets' forward has eight shots on goal across the past two contests. That includes nine scoring chances in fewer than 23 minutes of combined ice time.
While Columbus does not rest and plays Carolina on Friday, the potential for offense is high enough to look at some of the more under-salaried Columbus players. This paid off handsomely in the win against Florida on Thursday night. It might again on Friday.
At the least, Benstrom may play a few more minutes, which could lead to a few more opportunities.
Matt Roy, Defenseman, Los Angeles Kings
FanDuel Salary: $4,300
The Los Angeles Kings' defenseman may not be able to score some goals (he has zero on the season), but he can provide assists.
Matt Roy now has 15 of them in 49 games for the Kings. He also has 120 shots and 77 blocked shots on the season. That is a combined 4.02 shots/blocked shots per game.
The floor looks to be ever-increasing. Roy is averaging 2.5 blocked shots per game during the past four appearances and has the potential to record at least two shots on any given night.
Roy is an interesting stacking piece for Friday night's "Freeway Faceoff" against the Anaheim Ducks. Players like Viktor Arvidsson and Adrian Kempe have upside, as well.
