3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Friday 3/4/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Friday night features us seven games on the schedule. Let's hunt for values!
Jack Roslovic, Center, Columbus Blue Jackets
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Jack Roslovic started off the season decently -- then he hit a black-hole level void of production. Lately, the center for Columbus has made a bit of a comeback.
He has a goal and three assists in his previous four starts. Even better, Roslovic has seen more playing time once again. A bump to more than 15 minutes a night is great progress. He also has five shots on goal but ten scoring chances during this four-game stretch.
At just $3,900, the pivot is getting top-six forward duties at even strength and on the power play. He's worth a look against the Los Angeles Kings at home on Friday night.
Evgeny Svechnikov, Wing, Winnipeg Jets
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Eventually, FanDuel will believe in Evgeny Svechnikov. He is scoring much like Andrei Svechnikov these days for Winnipeg.
His minutes are not great, but he has a goal in three straight games. Furthermore, despite playing only a little over 12 minutes a night, he has seven shots on goal and nine scoring chances. He's legitimately putting the puck on net.
Against Montreal, his physical side came out with four hits as well. While his time on lines varies in the middle-six forwards, it would not be a surprise to see Svechnikov see a little man-advantage time tonight at home versus Dallas. He's been one of their most productive scorers, so why not?
The forward has double-digit FanDuel-point potential once again tonight, and this salary could be much higher on his next slate if he realizes it.
Jacob Bryson, Defenseman, Buffalo Sabres
FanDuel Salary: $3,700
We'll stick to Wednesday's process with the young defenseman against a vulnerable Minnesota Wild defense and goaltending.
Hey, it worked. Buffalo's Jacob Bryson managed a goal on three shots in just over 20 minutes of ice time in Toronto.
Even at home, this is a dicey option, but the salary is so low that it could pay off once more. Bryson had gone three straight games without a shot on goal or quality scoring chance before his last game. Still, he's getting work you don't see at this salary often. He's on the top even-strength pairing with Rasmus Dahlin, and he's captaining the second power-play unit.
At $3,700, it does not hurt to take a shot at some upside against a Minnesota team that has yielded a whopping 42 goals over its previous nine outings.
