3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 4/20/22

With just four games on Wednesday loaded with stars, which value options can we turn to?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Wednesday night has four games on the schedule. Let's see what gems can be found.

Johan Larsson, Center, Washington Capitals

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

The Washington Capitals' bottom-six center is only averaging about 11 minutes per night, but he has a goal and five assists in his last six games.

The Swedish spark plug carries a good deal of risk. He has a low floor, does not shoot a lot, and will not be played in prime scoring situations.

Despite all this, it is hard to look completely away from Johan Larsson on Wednesday night in Vegas. These two teams could light the lamp more than a few times.

Keegan Kolesar is a bottom-six pivot from the Golden Knights at just $3,500. That is not a bad alternative when stacking this one.

Mattias Janmark, Wing, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $3,400

Maybe Vegas should give some of their bottom-six forwards more of a shot. It could not hurt the way they're losing.

Mattias Janmark has four assists in his last five contests, but the winger's salary stays around $3,400.

Washington is one of the best road teams in the league, but speed kills, and Janmark has plenty of that. He's also posted seven shots and eight scoring chances in his last two games despite playing barely 14 minutes a night.

This is a winger who the Capitals may have problems with on the perimeter Wednesday night. If he can lean into his second-line role more at even strength, that adds to his value.

Alec Regula, Defenseman, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

Yes, we are digging well beyond the normal bounds of value here.

Being open to prospects and call-ups getting slightly elevated roles is necessary, and the Chicago Blackhawks have one in defenseman Alec Regula.

The defender sees around 17 minutes per night now and does have a goal in his last four games. Regula also has six shots, eight scoring chances, and seven blocked shots in this span. This makes for a decent floor at a this reasonable salary.

Chicago keeps losing games but seems to be playing their young talent a bit more. That is encouraging from the angle of looking to roster their value plays.
