Group A: Mohamed Salah

Country: Egypt

Club Team: Liverpool

Age: 25

At this point in the year, it should come as no surprise that all eyes will be on Mohamed Salah this summer. After his move from Roma to Liverpool last summer, Salah has been nothing short of world class. With 32 goals scored this season, he won the Premier League Golden Boot and set the EPL record for most goals in a 38-match season. He also tacked on 10 assists on his way to being voted PFA Player of the Year.

As if that wasn't enough, he scored 10 goals in the Champions League, providing Liverpool with a chance to win their first Champions League title since 2005. Oh, yeah, and he also helped Egypt secure their first World Cup appearance since 1990, scoring five goals during qualifying, tied for the most in the tournament.

If Liverpool win the Champions League and Salah can push Egypt through to the knockout stages, it isn't beyond discussion that his season is one of the best in the history of soccer. We give Egypt a 38.11% chance of making the Round of 16, so anything beyond that and Salah would be a shoo-in for the next Ballon d'Or.
