3 FanDuel Premier League Under-the-Radar Plays for Matchweek 9
If you have played daily fantasy sports for a while, you know the importance of being contrarian in large-field tournaments. Recognizing which players are going to be owned by the masses and finding others who you think have a similar point projection but will come at much lower ownership can really separate yourself from your opponents.
The same goes for DFS Premier League. Even though the large-field tournaments aren't quite as large as they are for other sports, there is still value in identifying quality under-the-radar plays.
This article will discuss FanDuel's main Saturday slate, which starts at 10:00 a.m. EST and features seven matches.
Matchweek 9 |
---|
Saturday, October 20th |
Tottenham at West Ham |
Brighton at Newcastle |
Southampton at Bournemouth |
Burnley at Manchester City |
Fulham at Cardiff |
Watford at Wolves |
Liverpool at Huddersfield |
The ninth main slate of the season is headlined by Manchester City. The current league leaders are massive 3 goal favorites at home against Burnley and have an implied win probability of 92.5%. Liverpool and Tottenham are the only other elites sides on the slate, and both are road favorites against Huddersfield and West Ham respectively. Despite expected high ownership, it is difficult to fade Manchester City in this spot. However, doing so will guarantee a unique lineup.
Another situation to keep an eye on is the injuries suffered by Liverpool players over the international break. Sadio Mane ($9,000), Naby Keita ($7,000), Virgil van Dijk ($6,000), and Mohamed Salah ($10,000) were all injured while playing for their respective national teams. At this point in time, Mane and Keita seem unlikely to play, while van Dijk and Salah are still in contention. The likely outcome of this will be sky high ownership on Xherdan Shaqiri ($7,500).
With that in mind, here are three players to consider -- especially for tournament formats -- this weekend.
