Paul Goldschmidt is deserving of consideration on a nightly basis, but when he’s facing a lefty, you have to try and get him in the lineup. That is especially the case when the game is at Chase Field, which slots in fifth in park factor.

Versus southpaws this season, Goldschmidt owns a .442 wOBA with a 40.3% hard-hit rate. At home against lefties, the hard-hit rate spikes to 48.2% while the wOBA is an absurd .526.

He’s set to square off with New York Mets left-hander Jonathon Niese. This will be Niese’s first start with New York in 2016. He boasts a lowly 15.7% strikeout rate this season, and the strikeout rate dips to 14.1% against right-handers.

Arizona’s implied total of 5.16 is the second-highest clip of the main slate.
