Carlos Beltran, OF, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $2,900

Carlos Beltran is off to a slow start this season, but there's no need to worry just yet.

The 39-year-old slugger may not be the most consistent fantasy option at this point in his career, but he still offers plenty of power and upside. He finished the 2016 season with a 35.8% hard-hit rate and a .217 ISO, and owns slightly better numbers against left-handed pitchers than righties over his career -- adding some fantasy appeal tonight against southpaw Jason Vargas.

Vargas has only played in 12 games over the last two seasons, but his career numbers don't inspire any confidence. He has posted a SIERA below 4.10 only once in 11 seasons (and that came in a season in which he played in only three games), with a career average sitting at 4.49. He has also allowed a career .324 wOBA and 44.9% fly-ball rate with a 4.60 xFIP against right-handed hitters.

Beltran has a ton of upside here, especially with the Houston Astros owning the seventh-highest implied total among the 20 teams on today's main slate.
