Matt Carpenter, 2B, St. Louis Cardinals

Matt Carpenter absolutely crushed right-handed pitching in 2016 to the tune of a 47.2% hard-hit rate and a 46.6% fly-ball rate. Those numbers don't appear to be an aberration either, as they followed a 40.2% hard-hit rate and a 42.0% fly-ball rate from 2015.

Righty Ivan Nova also doesn't represent a tough matchup for Carpenter -- he allowed the second-highest hard-hit rate of his career with a 34.4% in 2016. Through two starts this year, that number has climbed to 35.6% thanks to a swinging-strike rate of just 3.4%.

Our models are high on Carpenter in this spot, and he projects as our seventh-ranked point-per-dollar value of the day.
