Why He Will Go Overlooked:
If that golf-ball-sized hail can hold off, the Coors matchup features two second basemen who are in great spots. DJ LeMahieu and Javier Baez are sure to be highly owned as both have nice matchups in hitter-friendly Colorado.
Sporting only a .298 wOBA this season, Dee Gordon hasn't exactly set the world on fire to start 2017. He'll look to change that with a nice matchup today.
Why You Should Use Him:
When it goes, it goes quickly, and boy are things spiraling downward fast for Adam Wainwright.
Over 30.0 innings pitched this season, Wainwright has posted a 6.30 ERA, and hitters are batting .363 against Wainwright. Lefties are hitting him particularly hard as they've rocked him for three homers already this year and a .408 wOBA.
An important aspect that will likely go overlooked is Gordon's speed as he will try to run on Yadier Molina if he gets on. Long known for his defensive prowess, the eight-time Gold Glove winner is no longer at the peak of his powers. In 2016, Molina nabbed only 21.2% of base stealers.
Gordon's (and Miami's) strong matchup versus Wainwright and potential to rack up some extra points with a few thefts makes him a sneaky play.
