Xander Bogaerts has been on a roll lately, but I'll keep banging the drum that he remains overpriced on FanDuel.

Indeed, the last time Bogaerts scored zero FanDuel points was on April 26th, which can in part be attributed to his strong 12.2% strikeout rate and 86.6% contact rate. That kind of plate discipline and consistency is perfect for cash games.

But at his price you want a little pop, something he's shown very little of in 2017. It's mid-May and he still has zero home runs, and his contact-heavy approach has led to a 58.2% ground-ball rate. His hard-hit rate has improved recently (37.2% over the last 14 days), but sits at 29.1% on the year.

Tonight's matchup is hardly ideal, too. Against right-handed bats, opposing pitcher Lance Lynn has a career 26.7% strikeout rate and 28.0% hard-hit rate.

Furthermore, Bogaerts has an above-average .341 career BABIP, but his elevated .391 is due for regression. Wait for the salary to drop before getting back in on him.
