Joe Biagini isn't a household name, but he's put together a solid 2017.

Through 27 2/3 innings in both relief and in the rotation, he's compiled a 2.65 SIERA, 22.9% strikeout rate and 2.9% walk rate. His batted-ball numbers also look good, with a 58.7% ground-ball rate and 26.3% hard-hit rate.

He's only had two starts, but he's yet to give up an earned run in either. It's hard to imagine him keeping this up (.267 BABIP), but it's looking like he could have the chops to at least be a league-average starter.

With that in mind, even though Matt Kemp has been hitting the cover off the ball this year (39.5% hard-hit rate), it's a high price to pay for him in a mediocre matchup without the platoon advantage. There are better spots to exploit.
