Joe Ross shocked just about everyone in his last outing, twirling a 12-strikeout, 65-point gem against the Baltimore Orioles. This came after two straight duds, but shows the kind of upside Ross can have when he's on.

But remember what Strasburg went through on Monday, and that hot and humid weather is looking rather similar tonight. Ross hasn't exactly been keeping the ball on the ground (39.1% rate), nor preventing hard contact (36.4% rate). In fact, until that last start, he had given up at least one home run in each of his other six starts.

Between the conditions and his general inconsistencies, it might be best to sit this one out and see if he can do it twice before putting any faith back into Ross.
