Clayton Richard has shown some improvement in 2017, and while his 3.95 SIERA isn't terrible, he's allowing a big .355 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Kris Bryant's production is down a bit recently (though still not bad -- he's posted a .365 wOBA in June), but he's been making great contact, ranking 10th in average batted-ball distance among batters with at least 10 such occurrences this month.

He has tagged left-handed pitching for a huge .495 wOBA on a 42.4% hard-hit rate through 68 plate appearances, giving him a ton of upside against Richard that's not truly reflected in his price tag.
