We don't have a big sample-size for Jim Adduci this season (22 games), but he has been making some tremendous contact against right-handed pitching, with a 54.8% hard-hit rate and 11.9% soft-hit rate over 64 plate appearances.

He draws a solid matchup tonight against Baltimore Orioles righty Kevin Gausman, who has a shaky 4.64 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) and has allowed a big .384 wOBA to left-handed bats on the season, and for just above minimum-salary in a matchup this good, the risk that comes with relying on a small sample of success for Adduci is well worth it.
