Aaron Judge has underwhelmed in August, only managing a .296 wOBA, but it's not time to panic just yet. He ranks fourth in average exit velocity among the 279 hitters with at least 25 batted balls in August, but has turned that outstanding contact into a .267 batting average on balls in play (BABIP), a mark that is not likely sustainable.

This gap between his production and how well he is hitting the ball has driven his price tag way down, thus leaving him with plenty of upside.

That is especially true in the great matchup he draws tonight, as the New York Yankees have a solid 5.32 implied total in a contest with Detroit Tigers southpaw Matt Boyd, who has an ugly 5.33 xFIP and 38.6% hard-hit rate against right-handed bats.
