Jimmy Nelson is definitely pushing the cheap end of "stud" here, but with the day's top-end pitchers largely drawing some weak fantasy matchups, he's appealing against the San Francisco Giants.

Just looking at active rosters, the Giants rank right in the middle of the pack with a 20.6% strikeout rate against right-handed ptiching, while their 83 wRC+ is the second-worst in the majors.

Nelson has a solid 3.40 SIERA through 25 games in 2017, and his 26.8% strikeout rate and 11.4% swinging strike rate are both solid marks for fantasy purposes. He has also done a great job limiting strong contact recently, allowing a bottom-25 batted-ball distance among the 198 pitchers that have allowed at least 25 batted balls in August.
