Dillon Peters, Miami Marlins

Starts: September 12th at Philadelphia Phillies, September 17th vs. Milwaukee Brewers
ESPN ownership: 2 percent

The fact that recent call up Dillon Peters has all of 12 MLB innings to his name lends him as much intrigue as it does skepticism, but of all the widely available two-start arms lined up for Week 24, he might be the one with the friendliest matchups.

Indeed, the Miami Marlins' rookie is set to face two of the most power-starved lineups since the break. And while the numbers on Peters' curveball (55% strikeout rate, -60 wRC+ allowed) are hard to parse because of the small sample, the fact that the Phillies and Brewers have both been subpar producers against breaking balls all season could find Peters set up for a big week, assuming he can keep the 13.6% walk rate on his fastball in check.

Peters was never a major strikeout force in the minors (he tallied no better than a 22.6% strikeout rate over any substantive sample), so regression on his 29.8% strikeout rate over his first two starts in the majors is sure to come, though considering his opponents this week, we might very well see the rookie keep the unnaturally high whiffs going for a couple more starts.

At the very least, Peters is a worthy fallback option -- he's almost universally unowned across ESPN leagues.
