4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 9/12/17
Travis d'Arnaud, C, New York Mets
FanDuel Price: $2,800
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Bopping his 29th and 30th homers of the season on Sunday, Gary Sanchez of the New York Yankees could be a chalky option at catcher tonight as he takes on Blake Snell of the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2017, Snell has allowed 1.34 homers per nine innings pitched to right-handed batters, including a 32.9% hard-hit rate and 39.5% fly-ball rate.
Travis d'Arnaud, who is sporting only a .239 batting average, is probably an option that not many will consider at catcher.
Why You Should Use Him:
It seems like everyone on the New York Mets is hurt, but their backstop is healthy, and he could be primed for a big evening.
D'Arnaud and crew face Jose Quintana, who's struggled a bit as a member of the Chicago Cubs -- since getting traded, he's allowed a 33.8% hard-hit rate and 30.9% fly-ball rate, which includes eight home runs.
The Mets catcher, meanwhile, has ripped southpaws in 2017 to the tune of a 151 wRC+, 35.1% hard-hit rate, and 31.6% fly-ball rate.
