Greg Bird, New York Yankees (1B)

The New York Yankees like first baseman Greg Bird, and it's easy to see why. At age 22 in 2015, he put up a wRC+ of 137 and an fWAR of 0.9 in only 46 games, slugging 11 home runs. However, that season was cut short by a shoulder injury that forced him to miss all of 2016.

Following a horrific start to 2017, an ankle injury didn't allow him to get back on the field until August 26th, but he did perform well down the stretch and in the postseason.

Bird hit .295 with 6 home runs in his final 14 regular season games, and remained a hot bat in October. He slugged a huge home run in the ALDS against the Cleveland Indians' Andrew Miller, which helped him post an overall OPS of .919 in that matchup.

He improved on those numbers with an OPS of .964 in their seven-game ALCS tilt with the eventual world champion Houston Astros, but can he stay healthy enough to be a left-handed power hitter the Yankees can count on?
