Andrew Cashner had a 3.40 ERA last year and is pitching at home in a non-prohibitive matchup, so why is he a strong avoid at such a cheap price?

With a pitcher's floor and ceiling being driven so much by his strikeouts under FanDuel's scoring, Cashner's paltry 12.2% strikeout rate last season doesn't warrant much excitement. Moreover, Cashner's 5.52 SIERA indicates that he was extremely fortunate to have such a suppressed ERA last year.

In 2018, it's safe to expect Cashner's ERA to balloon from last season's clip, and it could start doing just that today against the Baltimore Orioles, who ranked sixth in wRC+ against right-handed pitchers last season. The O's boast the second-highest implied total (4.61) on the slate.
