Yonder Alonso posted the second-highest wOBA (.366) of his career as well as a career-best .235 ISO in 2017. His production is down to start the 2018 season, but his 34.0% hard-hit rate isn't far behind his 36.0% mark from last season.

Dating back to the 2017 season, he has made excellent contact against right-handed pitching, sporting a 35.0% hard-hit rate, 13.6% soft-hit rate and 41.6% fly-ball rate in the split. That has translated to a strong .374 wOBA off righties.

That same time frame has seen Baltimore Orioles righty Kevin Gausman struggle against left-handed bats to the tune of a 5.01 xFIP while allowing a .357 wOBA.
