Thanks to an offense that has finally risen from its slumber, the New York Yankees have surged to the top of the AL East standings, and young righty Domingo German will look to keep things rolling on the mound tonight. German has been nasty in his brief major league career, which could make for a few tough at-bats for lefty Nomar Mazara in Globe Life Park.

Over 39 2/3 innings, German is rocking a 26.7% strikeout rate and 12.6% swinging-strike rate over his 14 big-league appearances (2 as a starter). Interestingly enough, German has dominated lefties in this split, only allowing a .246 wOBA and 28.1% hard-hit rate.

While Mazara has performed better with the platoon advantage throughout this career -- posting a .337 wOBA and .193 isolated power (ISO) against righties -- he is struggling miserably of late. Over his last 9 games, he has a mere 6 hits in 36 at-bats, which has come to a .226 wOBA and 14.8% hard-hit rate.

With a 15-game slate, there are a lot of players to target in better spots tonight.
