Nobody is truly matchup-proof, but Max Scherzer comes very close.

He has made four starts against teams that rank in the top-10 in wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season, and in those games, he has averaged 52.0 FanDuel points. That mark actually sits above his season-average clip of 49.3 FanDuel points per game -- which is a touch more than 2.0 points higher than any other pitcher's per-start average.

The Boston Red Sox are absolutely a nightmare matchup, but the Washington Nationals are still -153 moneyline favorites here, leaving the Sox with the day's second-lowest implied total (3.39).

Scherzer not only leads the pitchers on today's slate in both SIERA (2.40) and strikeout rate (37.1%), but those marks are good for tops among all qualified starters on the year. He has proven to have plenty of fantasy value even in tough matchups, and our models project him as Monday's top-scoring fantasy arm by a big margin.
