Mike Foltynewicz, SP, Atlanta Braves

I've picked on Mike Foltynewicz frequently this season in the avoids column, and I will continue to do so as his price continues to rise.

He has had a very good season, posting a 3.74 SIERA, 10.0% walk rate, 33.7% fly-ball rate, and 10.5% swinging-strike rate. Those are the marks of an above average pitcher rather than an ace though, and Foltynewicz's 3.04 ERA far outpaces his peripheral metrics. He has a tough road matchup tonight as well.

Against right-handed pitching, the Washington Nationals rank 3rd in walk rate (9.6%) and have the 7th-lowest strikeout rate (20.3%). They also have their full complement of bats after Juan Soto, Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy, and Adam Eaton have all missed time this season, making them as dangerous a matchup as ever.
