The Colorado Rockies sit atop the NL West, and the remainder of the season will put them to the test, as divisional foes square off down the stretch. Tonight, we are treated to Patrick Corbin and the Arizona Diamondbacks taking on the Rox, and that could make for a long evening for Charlie Blackmon.
Corbin has roasted lefties this season, posting a 26.7% fly-ball rate and 33.5% strikeout against same-sided bats. And even though the Rockies outfielder has racked up six extra-base hits over his last four games, including three homers, he holds a 30.1% fly-ball rate in same-sided matchups in 2018.
Blackmon has been hot at the dish and playing in Coors Field is often a great play, but against a fellow lefty at a hefty price tag, we may want to shy away from him tonight.
