A dirt-cheap up the middle option tonight, should we consider rostering Jose Pirela?

Nah. The utility man for the San Diego Padres is a middling park for pop, ranking 16th in home run factor, and he'll be up against a lefty -- which has not served him well this year.. As part of a team that ranks 24th in team wOBA (.298) against southpaws, Pirela has posted only a 24.4% fly-ball rate and .308 wOBA in this split.

And it's no run-of-the-mill lefty he will face, either. Patrick Corbin has dominated righties this year, only allowing a .255 wOBA with a 30.0% strikeout rate, making Pirela a weak play tonight.
