Avisail Garcia's .250/.303/.457 slash line might not distinguish the Tampa Bay Rays in the current offensive climate, even if it is a minor step forward from the .236/.281/.438 letdown that he posted in 2018.

On one hand, Garcia's worst tendencies appear magnified, as his 20.6% swinging strikes and 29.3% strikeouts overall shape up to be career worsts. On the other hand, his feast-or-famine approach is leading to some fearsome power metrics, with his 20.0% barrel rate and 92.9 mph average exit velocity ranking among the best in the MLB, good for a tidy .535 xSLG.

With a FanDuel salary hovering in the low-$3,000s, Garcia makes for an intriguing power gamble as the Rays line up against some very suspect arms in the Royals and Orioles rotations in Week 5.
