C.J. Wilson has not allowed more than two runs in two road starts in 2015, continuing his trend of posting better road stats than home stats since 2014. He gets to take on the San Francisco Giants in pitcher-friendly AT&T Park this Friday. The Giants have scored 26 runs and collected a .629 team OPS at home this April, sixth and fifth worst in baseball, respectively. The Giants have also struck out 69 times in their home park, good for 13th worst. To say that the Giants are missing Hunter Pence (injury) and Michael Morse (now in Miami) cannot be understated.
Looking at Wilson's home and away strikeout numbers from last season, he made four more starts on the road, pitching 21.0 more innings while striking out 23 in those added frames. His K/BB ratio and strikeout percentage are a bit under his career averages, so a few more punch-outs should be expected in the future.
