In Toronto's past 21 games, Michael Saunders has batted leadoff 15 times, 11 of which came against right-handed pitching. For DFS, batting leadoff is obviously good because more at-bats equals more opportunities for potential points. And when a leadoff hitter has great splits, he becomes a near-automatic cash game play.

Versus right-handed pitching this year, Saunders has posted a .154 ISO and .358 wOBA. However, he’s also destroyed left-handed pitching with three of his four home runs coming off southpaws. Why is this important? Because if the Giants bring in a left-handed reliever, Saunders will remain in the game. He's completed 22 of his 26 starts, never leaving earlier than the 8th inning, making him a strong cash game play.

Tonight, he’ll face Jake Peavy, who can’t get anyone out this year. Despite somehow not giving up a home run to left-handed hitters yet, he’s allowed a .339 ISO, .502 wOBA, and 43.5 hard hit rate.

It’s time for Peavy to give up a home run to a lefty, and Michael Saunders could be the first.
