Jose Bautista is eligible to play while appealing his one-game suspension for taking a fist to the face.

Bautista’s .362 wOBA is his lowest clip since 2009, but there are several positives to suggest an uptick in production is around the corner. As usual, he’s drawing a ton of walks, posting a 19.2% walk rate, and his 39.8% hard-hit rate is a career high.

Tonight, Bautista and the Blue Jays hit the road to do battle with Minnesota Twins’ righty Ervin Santana. After posting an ugly 4.43 SIERA in 2015, Santana has pitched to a 4.23 SIERA this season. He’s been plagued by a career-worst 9.2% walk rate, which could spell big trouble against a patient and powerful Toronto lineup.

Target Field is a pitcher-friendly stadium for just about everyone but Bautista. In 69 at-bats at Minnesota’s home park, Bautista has slugged an incredible 11 home runs with a monster .362/.443/.913 slash line. He’s our third-ranked hitter for the night with a projected point total of 13.09.
