Steve Pearce, 1B, Tampa Bay Rays

FanDuel Price: $3,600

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

The days of rostering Steve Pearce at a bargain bin price at a more flexible position such as second base or outfield are long gone. With Ortiz, Paul Goldschmidt, Edwin Encarnacion, and Davis not much more expensive than him, it's unlikely Pearce is a popular play at first base tonight.

Why You Should Use Him:

While it was certainly nice to be able to roster Pearce at a discounted price tag, so were all the points that caused his price to rise to the point that it has. He has scored at least six FanDuel points in each of his past 10 games, with three games of 20-plus.

Pearce and the Rays are projected to put up 4.7 runs on Justin Nicolino, which is the second-highest implied total on the slate. Nicolino, a lefty, has a career 5.77 SIERA. Against a Tampa Bay team that can crush left-handed pitching, he may be in for a rough night.

Specifically, Pearce absolutely crushes lefties. In his career, Pearce has raised his wOBA, ISO, and slugging percentage all by 50 to 110 points against lefties, while also raising his hard-hit rate from 30.2 percent against righties to 37.3 percent against lefties. He's been locked in at the plate against lefties this season, posting a 47.1 percent hard-hit rate and 50 percent fly-ball rate, which has resulted in a .566 wOBA and .868 slugging percentage. Small sample size? Yes, but still -- those numbers are stupid-good for someone this cheap.
