With every home run David Ortiz hits this season, I keep thinking, “OK, he has to slow down at some point.”

And he hasn’t. He just continues to mash. He’s hit 15 home runs already this season while posting the highest slugging percentage of his 20-year career at .728.

Against righties, he’s hit 13 of his 15 homers and has tallied ridiculous ISO and wOBA splits -- .411 and .480, respectively .

He’ll face R.A. Dickey tonight, who has allowed six of his nine homers to come off of left-handed bats. Dickey’s knuckleball hasn’t been the same this season -- last year, his knuckler earned a PITCHf/x Pitch Value of 10.0. This year? It’s plummeted to -1.7.

As a result, he’s allowed a .246 ISO and .356 wOBA to opposing left-handed hitters. That’s great news for Ortiz, making him one of tonight's top hitting options despite the hefty price tag.
