Mikie Mahtook, OF, Tampa Bay Rays

Mikie Mahtook was bumped up to the leadoff spot in the Rays' last game and makes for a very interesting fantasy option tonight.

Over the course of his young, 53-game career, Mahtook has produced very well against lefties, posting a .278/.345/.608 slash with a .403 wOBA and .329 ISO. He also owns a 44.1 percent fly ball rate, a 15.0 percent soft-hit rate, and a 40.0 percent hard-hit rate against left-handed pitching. While his numbers through 11 games this season aren't super impressive, this production is incredibly encouraging for tonight's matchup with Robbie Ray.

Even during a season in which Ray is posting his career-best SIERA (3.99), he has really struggled against right-handed hitters, allowing a .382 wOBA and a 4.39 xFIP. Tampa Bay is likely to produce well against Ray, and Mahtook, especially if he's in the leadoff spot again today, offers huge value as a part of that.
