Salvador Perez, C, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $2,700

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

The red-hot Evan Gattis will likely be the chalk at catcher today in a terrific matchup. Salvador Perez's price may keep him in the running for the second-most popular catcher, but the difference between Gattis and all other options at catcher is going to be great enough that Salvy will come at low ownership.

Why You Should Use Him:

This will be just the second start Perez makes since returning from a quadriceps contusion. In his first, he went two-for-four with a double. Prior to his injury, Perez was on quite the hot streak, hitting safely in 12 straight games.

Perez will look to start another hot streak today against Mike Wright. While Perez has posted stronger numbers against lefties in his career, his splits against right-handed pitching are not far off. He'll be hitting in the middle of Kansas City's batting order and could be a big part of reaching their 4.5 implied team total. This game will also be played at Camden Yards, which is home of the third-highest park factor over the past three seasons.

Gattis is likely the optimal play for cash formats tonight, but Perez is an intriguing, salary-saving option tonight. Give him a look in tournaments.
