Ryan Braun has mauled left-handed pitchers throughout his career, posting a .433 wOBA against southpaws. It’s no different this season, as he boasts a .422 wOBA and 11.2% walk rate versus lefties.

Braun, as you probably could’ve guessed, gets to face a left-hander tonight in Pittsburgh Pirates’ starter Jeff Locke at PNC Park.

With an ugly 5.17 SIERA, Locke is having the worst season of his career. His strikeout rate (12.2%) and walk rate (7.4%) are also at career-low levels. He’s been particularly terrible this season against right-handed bats, allowing a .362 wOBA and 34.3% hard-hit rate to righties.

Braun has been better away from Miller Park. He owns a .386 wOBA on the road, compared to a .353 wOBA at home.
