Jedd Gyorko, 3B, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $2,700

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Jedd Gyorko has been red-hot lately, but with Kris Bryant and the Cubs in a great spot, he likely won't be the most popular third base option, And that's to say nothing of Nolan Arenado, who will probably soak up ownership for his game at hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Vegas has the Cardinals projected for a modest 3.9 runs, which should also keep his ownership in check.

Why You Should Use Him:

What began as a "revenge-game" narrative against his former team has turned into a full-on onslaught from Gyorko, with seven home runs in his last nine games. Earlier today, our own Jim Sannes looked into Gyorko's power surge, and in short, it's legit.

Assuming he's in the lineup tonight (doubleheader yesterday), Gyorko will have an excellent chance to continue his recent dominance when he faces off with Logan Verrett. A righty, Verrett has posted reverse splits in his career, actually recording a higher xFIP against right-handed batters.

That lines up perfectly with Gyorko, who has some pretty ridiculous reverse splits this season, especially in the power department. He has elevated his ISO by 296 points against righties while raising his slugging percentage by 323 points. He also boasts a 36.6% hard-hit rate against righties on the year.

Gyorko's dependence on the long ball and the Cardinals low implied run total against Verrett make him more of a tournament play than cash game option, but he's certainly worth a look in GPPs.
