The Dodgers' Offense Should Keep Improving

The Dodgers were busting moves yesterday, adding Josh Reddick in the same deal that brought Hill over. We should probably be equally excited for this half of the trade as we were for Hill.

Just a few weeks ago, the Dodgers' offense was chilling near the basement in wRC+ against right-handed pitchers. They've worked their way up to 11th in a short spurt of time, and it's not all just a fluke. They're 8th in hard-hit rate against righties, and they're also 8th overall in hard-hit rate the past 30 days. That's a sustainable change, and Reddick should only help matters.

Reddick doesn't bring other-worldly stick skills, but he's going to get on base. With a 10.3% walk rate and 12.5% strikeout rate, Reddick's .368 on-base percentage is certainly not just the result of small sample. Additionally, Reddick's 35.4% fly-ball rate should play better in Los Angeles than Oakland with Dodger stadium sitting 11th in home run park factor compared to 27th place for O.co Coliseum. That's not only going to help Reddick, but he'll be a better asset for guys like Corey Seager, Justin Turner, and Adrian Gonzalez than Yasiel Puig had been.

The Dodgers' offense isn't hot; it's regressing to where the peripheral stats said they should have been. With Reddick now in the fold, this offense is going to keep excelling, and you'll want to invest at their still-depressed pricing.
