4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/3/19

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers are at home in one of the best hitter’s parks in the league, and that has them coming in with an implied team total set at 5.07 tonight.

The Rangers will be hosting the Toronto Blue Jays, who will have Trent Thornton on the mound tonight. Thornton is off to a rough start in his first year the majors. He comes in allowing a .392 wOBA, 2.57 homers per nine innings, and a 44% hard contact rate to left-handed hitters this season. Thornton’s numbers don’t get much better versus right-handed hitters, allowing a 43% fly ball rate and a 46% hard contact rate. A young pitcher who is struggling going up against a power-hitting Rangers team.

We should see the Rangers as a popular team on this slate even with Coors Field in action, as this is the natural spot to go with some of that salary if you aren’t spending up for the Colorado Rockies or Arizona Diamondbacks.

Joey Gallo ($4,500) should stand out tonight with his .274 ISO versus right-handed pitchers from last season, along with the fact he has homered in three straight games. He is one few players who truly bring multi-home run potential on a slate and since he has eight of his 11 against right-handed pitchers this season, you should be looking to spend up for him.

Rougned Odor ($2,600) offers a bit of salary relief, which is great since he is a better hitter than he is currently showing, simply just a slow start for him and just coming back from an injury. Last season, Odor posted a .201 ISO versus right-handed pitchers, along with a very powerful 45.6% hard contact rate. Shin-Soo Choo ($4,000) should be hitting leadoff as usual, giving him plenty of equity within the lineup. Nomar Mazara ($3,700) is just slightly cheaper and hits in the heart of the order. Asdrubal Cabrera ($2,900) or Isiah Kiner-Falefa ($2,200) offer a bit of savings and should help you differentiate your lineup in tournaments.
